
The number of operational tourist facilities across Maldives has risen to 1,180.
The latest weekly statistics publicized by the Ministry of Tourism revealed that a total of 1,180 tourist accommodation establishments are currently operational across Maldives, with a total of 58,467 tourist beds.
The total number of operational beds span across resorts, hotels, guesthouses and liveaboard vessels including 40,053 in resorts, 1,616 in hotels, 13,866 in guesthouses and 2,932 in liveaboard vessels.
Operational facilities include 164 resorts, 847 guesthouses, 13 hotels and 156 liveaboard vessels.
This means that one guesthouse resumed operations in the past week. One guesthouse in an island of Baa atoll resumed services in the past week.
Maldives currently has a capacity of 1,186 tourist facilities which include 156 safari vessels, 860 hotels and guesthouses and 170 resorts. This means that of the total facility-capacity six resorts are yet to resume operations.
